Pakistan’s socio-economic priorities in line with UN’s SDGs: Maleeha

At the UN, Pakistan said that socio-economic priorities of Imran Khan government are in line with the global 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. 

Speaking in the Committee of the General Assembly, Pakistan’s Ambassador Maleeha Lodhi said that Government priorities include revitalizing the economy, providing affordable energy, conservation of water resources, ensuring green growth and transformation of the health and education sectors.

On the issue of corruption and illicit financial flows, Ambassador Lodhi said that accountability and recovery of stolen assets was a corner stone of the agenda of Pakistan’s new government.

She said Diamer-Bhasha Dam once materialized this would serve as a major source for clean energy, drinking water and irrigation.
